Castelfalfi & Tuscany's Jerusalem
A medieval borgo brought back to life, a long lunch at Casa Masi, and a hillside where friars rebuilt Jerusalem for pilgrims who could never reach it.
One of Tuscany's most unusual and least-visited corners: a place to enjoy yourself and to learn, in equal measure.

What is Tuscany's Jerusalem?
The Sacro Monte of San Vivaldo: in the early 1500s Franciscan friars built a sequence of chapels in the woods that reproduce the holy places of Jerusalem, so pilgrims could follow the story of the Passion without leaving Tuscany.
